What informs my approach?

Trauma isn’t just what happened to us—it’s what happens inside us. How we've learnt to adapt to rupture in our safety, connection, belonging, and dignity. It’s the imprints left in our nervous system when we experience too much, too fast, or too soon, without the support we needed to process it. These imprints don’t live in our memories alone; they live in our bodies, shaping how we respond to stress, connection, and even possibility.

We don’t choose our survival patterns—our nervous system does. Whether through fight, flight, freeze, or fawning, our body finds ways to protect us, and sustains these ways long after the threat is gone. They become well practiced, automatic, and unconscious responses attempting to take care of something important to us. This is why insight alone isn’t enough to shift us into responses congruent with what we long for, because we're asking the body to renegotiate it protective ways and that it takes time, practice, and relational safety. We can understand our triggers, our wounds, our patterns—but without engaging the body in the process of healing and change, we remain caught in them.

Somatic Therapy offers a way through—not by intellectualizing trauma, but by how it shows up in our body. By learning to inhabit our body through sensation. By widening the range of sensations and emotions we can be with without contracting against them. By learning to source safety from the inside and complete stuck responses in the body we reclaim choice and agency. In that, we expand what is possible and can move towards it with the aid of the aliveness pulsing inside of us.

Healing is not the goal, relationship is—one we are constantly navigating within different social, personal and systemic conditions. It’s a relational practice with our bodies each other in service of safety, dignity, and belonging.

 Getting Started

The Mapping Deep-Dive is a two-hour somatic deep dive into what is bringing you here, the patterns your body has organized around, and the wider relational, familial, cultural, and systemic conditions that have shaped it.

Together, we begin to understand the terrain your body has been navigating: what it has learned to protect against, where it finds safety, what keeps repeating, what is asking to shift, and what your system may need to experience differently for something new to become possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few words from clients

I always say this isn't a modality it's a way of being. And because of that, it takes time. Not because healing is arduous, but because, like any relationship, it requires the willingness to be your own friend.

Yes, so much will be resolved. Yes, you can get off meds, rediscover aliveness, become less reactive, access pleasure, grieve, and find a beautiful flow to your life. But that's not my promise. My promise is this: you'll learn a relationship with yourself for life, rooted in the knowing that your body is not broken. Without exception. From there, everything is possible.

While I bring my training and experience, it's the commitment these women brought that makes it. I learned this early on: don't see people for their problems. See them for their persevering resilience. That steady gaze of faith in their capacity is often the greatest gift I can offer.
